Access Games had never made a PC game until very recently, I'm skeptical that DoD3's engine would be CAPABLE of working on Win architecture out of the box. That port would take time, and time is money, and Squeenix might well sink the money if NierA is enough of a success to justify putting more money into the franchise, but who knows.
Meanwhile for NierA, you push "Package for Win 32 bit" and take a coffee break. Plat's house engine is capable of PC releases, they've already done 4 of them. The cost of that port is $0.00, Square will absolutely do it (eventually).

Consoles monopolize and segregate videogame market, i.e. hello exclusivity. Console developers have no incentive to improve their machines because guaranteed market percentage already belongs to them, and videogame developers have no incentive to make good games because exclusivity guarantees profit. As a result consoles suck, and videogames suck.
