After Frieza, there's a very sharp slip into most fights and acts being a one-upmanship of "Yeah well I got this power now so I can win/Yeah but I actually got this transformation so you can't" this is present in the Frieza saga too but it gets far more prevalent after. The few exceptions rely on one of the biggest flaws of DBZ (present throughout) of "let's fuck around until Goku shows up/stops dying/heals up/stops dying again/becomes undead/becomes reundead"
TL;DR Up until this fight the Z warriors have had to rely on superior tactics and/or power of friendship. After this it becomes a power level nuclear race in which the very concept of power levels become bullshit.
Other issues are that Tory-amy discovers he has a massive transformation fetish, forgets that the other Z-warriors aren't actually just really good exposition devices, and I got this five via this overly elaborate post that is only really worth reading for the delicious get contained within.

I guess what I'm feeling is how most people feel like about people hyping about hobbies they don't understand, I don't quite feel the excellence pouring from a scene in which two hedgehogs just call each other fake and hit each other a few times.
Not saying its wrong to like the scene, more its weird to see a piece of vidya that some people rave about and be so utterly underwhelmed.
