Pressing a button and going back to aiming for me takes literally less than a second, it's not worth getting your hand in an extremely uncomfortable position and risk getting a massive cramp after hours of playing.

what about games like DS3 where players are using both forms of control? controller players HAVE to use claw grip or they're at a disadvantage.
Clawing is necessary for a lot of speedrunning and competitive FPS/Fighting/Racing/Platforming/fucking anything.
Moving your thumb or finger to a new button instead of having another finger dedicated to it puts you at a massive disadvantage.

I'll agree with speedrunning, because those miliseconds will actually count, but in competitive FPS are designed around regular grip. The auto-aim compensates more than enough to make up for it.

Few pro players claw, too. Most use scurf and other third party controllers instead of clawing.
Clawing is just a way of making you feel pro without actually doing anything. It's not a significant boost at all.

Not a all. You first reach a skill plateau, then in that plateau the small things will make it or break it.
If you're not a pro player, then the claw grip won't change anything. It gives you a slight boost in response time when pressing buttons. It's less than a second o difference that won't make any difference at all unless you're going up against pro players.
My point is that if you're that dedicated to getting super pro, just shell out some bucks on a third party controller instead of practicing for months with an uncomfortable grip style and getting hand cramps while you're at it.
