The only problem is that even if you're immortal, you still need to go back to the point where DIO killed you.

The Chosen Undead's biggest advantages are definitely the pseudo-immortality, including learning new information and acquiring skill with each death, and the fact that after a certain point of learning and training they effectively become the strongest warrior around. However, whether or not that translates well into the stand's powers is debatable; if anything, the stand would have the highest learning potential, but DIO would still be a major opponent.
