why is this allowed? name one time a console has ever had faulty storage.

It's probably something retarded like you didn't plug the power button in the right spot, didn't flip the switch on the power supply, or forgot to plug the CPU power cable in.
>>
>>341782049

Have you tried flipping the switch of the power supply to on?
>>

Your first guess should have been the connector for the power button itself or the PSU. Use common sense.

Sounds like you didn't connect the cables of the power button. Look again in your motherboard booklet and see if you can find the system pannel connector and where to connect your PC case cables to the motherboard. The case of the PC either has them in full shape so you can just plug and play, or separate, which sounds like what happened.

It's would be better if you had pics, but you won't be playing vidya any time soon if you don't do that
>>
>>341782856
>>341783850
I have a CPU power cord, one end has 8 pins and the other is two 4 pins

the 4 pins are in the mobo and the 8 pins are in the PSU

>>341783952
I checked twice to make sure the power button and reset button pins were in the right slot
>>
>>341783952
This the cables go in a specific order. This is the only time you need to consult the manual of the motherboard
>>

Happened to me when I built my brother computer. Ended up that they sent him a broken power supply.
>>
You should have remained a consolecuck or even better, a prebuild cuck
>>
>>341782049
did you make sure that the motherboard is connected to the power button?, there is usually a pin for this so that the power button can communicate with the mobo to turn the comp on
>>
>>341782856
>8 pin cpu connector plugged in?

It's always this, OP. It's ALWAYS this.
>>
>>341784176
This happened to me too. Try a power supply you know works if you have one.
>>
>>341782049
Putting in RAM was the only stressful part.
Shit felt like I was going to snap the Mobo trying to get it deep enough to click.

Thank god my future DDR4 build is still years off
>>
Honestly you might have just gotten a dead PSU.
>>
>>341782049
Even if you fucked up everything, your computer would still turn on, make beeping noises and possibly tell you that you fucked up everything.

So the issue is 100% one of the following in order of likelihood:

>You didn't connect your psu to your mb
>You fucked up connecting the case's power and reset cable to your mb
>The psu switch is off
>Your psu is faulty
>>
>no ones asked about static and grounding yet

Were you careful OP?
>>
>>341785048
I agree with you, but would put
>The psu switch is off
At the top and add in
>Its not plugged into a working socket

Yeah, that's what held me back the most. I spent at least an hour trying to get the CPU cooler in, when my problem all along was that I wasn't using enough force. I didn't know how fragile the parts were, and I also tried ditching even the faintest traces of static buildup between steps.

It was funny, the first time I did this I had the same problem. The power button config was the main issue, lining up those little wires on that corner of the motherboard that was shittily labeled.

As it turns out, each time I pressed the power button and let it go for all of 3-4 seconds, the very first startup took about 8 before anything would happen, So I assumed every config failed even though I had it right a bunch of times.
