Some things have been simplified but its also the freshest total war and the most fun I've had with the series in a very long time. Every faction is actually unique and not just with units but tech trees, research mechanics and neat little features like the book of grudges.
After Rome 2 and to a lesser extent Attila (mass dlcs that were half arsed) I had really begun to give up hope on them, but this has really turned it around.

is a game where you recreate famous
well I guess most of them aren't famous
where you recreate battles fought between the nazis and the soviets. it is a good game. it's graphics and sound design enforce a feeling of actually being there, to a degree that is frankly unparallelled in MP FPSs. it is the only MP FPS I've played where you have to play somewhat realistically- if so much as a foot sticks out while you're lying hunkered in a crater you can be sure that an enemy will pick up on it from 100+ meters away. You need to actually play like a terrified little Fritz, and it becomes easier when your friends explode into a red mist while shrieking for their mama around you. Another cool thing about the game is the smoke meta. because everything is so deadly games frequently end up with clear lines drawn, in between which are absolute killzones. to brave this expanse you need some kind of cover, and that's where the smoke grenades come in. in other FPSs smokes are usually redundant below extremely high tier play, in RO2 they become a necessary tool to reshape the battlefield to your favor. And that's cool. the arty is so and so as a mechanic, some good, some bad to it.
anyways I rate 8/10, it's a little buggy, some maps are really unbalanced and it often takes up to 10-15 minutes to find a game. Good fucking game though.

Dark Souls 1 is a satisfying, immersive game, like all the others in the series, but ultimately disappointing simply because of how overrated it is. It really does drop off in quality in the second half due to obnoxious gimmicks that are annoying as opposed to legitimately challenging, with the crystal caves and tomb of the giants being the worst offenders. Gwyn was also a REALLY bad final boss. I don't know, 7/10, I liked Demon's Souls and Bloodborne more.

it's streamlined over the original, and uses gameplay mechanics of the later entries of the series, if I recall correctly it leaves out Quarks training ground and the logging planet...neither were my favorites so I didn't mind losing them...still, some of the weapons, despite the upgrade system being at it's possible best in the series, just didn't feel as charming as the original.
also, if it's Gadgetron again, why the hell do I have a Combustor and not the Blaster?
It was nice that they were trying to properly link the start of the series in with the themes and terminology of the later games, the gold bolt rewards, the appearance of bolts to coins, rings, rupees and orbs was fun to play around with.
also, while there is a lot of talking in this game, at the same time, things feel a lot more filled with personality.

The Division
It is more of a social game given everything revolves around interaction with other players. You make friends killing NPCs, you make enemies shooting other people, you go back for loot to get revenge on other people.

TLOZ: Twilight Princess HD
Really fun. I loved the original TP when it came out on Wii, and the remaster only improved upon the original experience. Combat is slightly iffy when using Z-targeting, as the different sword moves are assigned to the different analog stick directions, so you end up jabbing everything instead of slashes. Overall a very fun LOZ game.

Fun but poorly balanced. Many heroes are much more capable than others, high skill cap on some trivializes low skill cap heroes. 2 CP maps a shit, matchmaking prioritizes quickly finding games instead of finding balanced games and still takes 2-3 minutes. Game is too focused on ults.
No server browser, No Mods, No custom maps.

MegaMan Legends
A lighthearted little romp with satisfying progression that can be beaten in 6 hours. Controls haven't aged well, but it can be refreshing to enjoy something lighthearted and innocent. Voice over falls into the 'bad but good' category, you'll smile during the cutscenes. 7/10.
