Loads of fun, though I wish they bothered making English versions of the songs. I loved I Feel Fine and Beautiful One Day from Fever.
The new games in Megamix are all really fucking fun. Kitties is my favorite.

I think it's more lenient with passing grades and maybe more generous with the timing. I remember some people saying that in the JP release.
Been playing the japanese one since like 5 months. Fun as fuck. It's not like there's much to understand to need a localization of the game.
Story mode was a mistake. Whoever thought that a Rhythm game needed a story and tons of dialogs needs to get fired asap.

The controls for DS made it harder, but even with buttons on 3DS some of the games are actually difficult the first few times. The challenges are pretty hard too.

Megamix is for sure a lot easier than the other games, as the only time I didn't get a Superb on a game was Freeze Frame, which I've never been able to get the timing on
Otherwise, the grading system is a lot kinder, and I think you have more time to hit the right notes

The translation seems pretty wonky. They refer to what is obviously is a wolf a bear and I can't believe the cat clapping game is just called "Kitties!".
