mostly. there are emulators for NES, SNES, all 3 gameboys (i think), N64, and gamecube. i'm pretty sure there's a way to play wii ISOs but i haven't used it myself.

You can play every Wii U, Wii and Gamecube game. You can play a lot of the N64, SNES and NES library through hacked virtual console on the vWii.
If you get a 3DS and hack it, you can pretty much emulate any NES, SNES, GB or GBC you want, as well as play GBA and 3DS games natively and play DS games with a flashcard.
So yes, get those two if you want to play every Nintendo game.

Thanks. It sounds awesome. With Zelda in the horizon I think I'll buy a Wii U. Maybe it would be better to wait for the eventual price drop but I'm guessing you need a Wii U with a specific firmware to hack it.

nope! it doesn't matter what firmware the wii u is at since you're not actually hacking the wii u, you'll be hacking the vwii which nintendo can't update.
