There was 4 console games and then 2 handheld games with the same formula, combat and that system was done. I would have preferred the series to just end, but I think I could trust Cory since he made the best GoW anyways.
It will be impossible to design the same combat encounters though. In other games eventually you fight like 5 guys and a minotaur, or 2 cerberus, hellhounds and some small guys. Or 10 small guys and 2 cyclops etc.
