I tried grimdawn, I got the first spell and it was like a green AOE circle around me.
then i was like cool, leveled up a bit.. got the second spell... it was a red aoe circle, exact same animation recoloured. I alt f4'd and refunded the game.
Maybe I was being petty.
POE is a better game at the moment that D3, Torchlight 2 and grimdawn put together.

Shit gets real in Grim Dawn, though. I haven't even made it to the end of Ultimate and I'm really liking the frequency and quantity of Hero and Unique mobs I get thrown at me.

You can't summon that many anyway through skills. Only like 3-4 max.
Summoners are way too strong even after multiple nerfs.
The 3 to 5 pets that you have crit like crazy, tank everything and are almost immortal.
Some of them have like 80k hp while a player has maybe 15k.

Not really. Diablo 3 is a game made by people who have no clues what an ARPG is but have been given a shitton of money to make it regardless.
Diablo 2 is still by far the better ARPG out there.

I recently got into Marvel Heroes again after a 2 year break.
Holy shit that game got good. Haven't had this much fun with a hack and slash since Lord of Destruction.
Unless you absolutely loath capeshit I highly, highly recommend the game. There's an anniversary event going on until the end of June which makes it easy to catch up on gear and gets you some neat free stuff like a hero, team ups (think d2 merc) and bank space.
The most annoying feature of the game right now for me is the fact that you need to pay cash for extra bank space, but other than that it's fucking fantastic.
I like it a lot better than Path of Exile (which I also played for over 100 hours) because it's way more fast paced in terms of gameplay and the voice acting is absolutely top notch. I also find the locations you fight at way more varied.

Marvel Heroes is also made by David Brevik, one of the main guys behind Diablo and Diablo 2 and it really shows. Haven't gotten this much Diablo feeling from any other clone.
