Pirating hurts developers and is the reason why PC isn't taken seriously As a gaming platform by big name companies. Games like red dead redemption didn't even come out on PC for the sole reason of fear of piracy

So why do you do it?
>>
>>341702906
Because i can save some money

I'm curious how shit the game is,
but i'm not gonna pay a single cent for a shit game

Do i buy the game if the game is good?
sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Did i even finished those pirated game?
99% of them aren't

Do Pirating hurts developers?
probably not
>>
To keep the pc gaming platform pure and away from garbage games
>>
Doesn't matter much pirating is going away soon anyway(at least for newer games that is)
>>
To make cucks like you upset
>>

I love how piracy on consoles is completely ignored but we'll do everything in our power to say its a only a problem on pc.
>>
>>341703679
Your right pirating on consoles is present but it's on a a much smaller scale

Why not? I will pirate if it will keep AAA-makers and their shit gameplay mixed with sjw-propaganda away from PC.
>>
>>341704070
What about second hand game resales? I gather publishers are taking steps to curb that though.
>>
>>341702906
and low sales, only hyper nerds play on pc
>>
>>341702906

Because I only pirate on console.
>>
>>341702906
Because no matter how many people pirated it, there will always be someone who buys it.

I'm thankful to them though.

Isn't forced online often regarded as a way to stop piracy? Don't you normally need some kind of account etc. to access the server?
>>
>>341705125
>yeah fuck that guy that put time into a project only to have it pirated to the point that he could no longer support it
Enjoy hell, fucko
>>
>>341705459
Am I expected to respect him because he put time into something?
Why?
>>
>>341705024
Sounds less like pirates crashed the game, and more that they showed the company couldn't handle a large market. "The high load revealed technical issues" which means that they knew that if they got enough legitimate customers their servers would crash and burn.

they could pay for more servers with that virtual money they didn't lose from pirated copies

Got any proof of that or are you just making shit up? Do you work for the company and know what their profit margins and profit projections look like or do you think every company only exists to propagate their games and not to make profit?

But piracy is dead thanks to DENUVO so all the pirate fags are gone. PC is now going to have the best years it ever had.

>>
>>341702906
I havent pirated for years but when I did I was a broke motherfucker with only EBs shitty ifferings to chose from. Most of the shit I pirated was 5-8 years old by that point anyway. Real question is why are you so rectal ravaged by a few poorfags when most games are microtransaction fueled aids.

Name a single good game that uses Denuvo. Protip, you can't because there isn't one.
>>
>>341702906
Gaming as a whole isn't taken seriously because of nerd culture, pretending as if pirating is some huge deal when it comes to PC gaming legitimacy is just flat out ridiculous.

I mean, you do realize that piracy is rampant in literally all forms of media, don't you?

This is my list of situations in which pirating a game is acceptable.

1. Having already bought a copy of the game and somehow losing it. Justification: This is digital media, there is no reason why this is unacceptable, unless it was a game disc that you were responsible for.

2. Out of protest of bad business practice and/or unethical behavior by developers/publishers. Justification: I would rather have people pirate these kinds of games than buy them anyway because they want to play them.

3. As a demo, to see if you like a game enough to buy it. Justification: This used to be common practice for a reason, and today too many developers are putting out unfinished garbage. People should get more than a page of info on steam.

4. To test if the game works on your PC before buying it. Justification: I shouldn't have to explain this one.
>>
>>341705024
that just shows the company fucked up the authentication of legit copies. nothing more.

If you don't pirate first then buy games you're a huge cocksucker.

It's important to buy good games from good developers but it's also important to not get scammed by shitty devs/publishers that will push out half finished or broken products to take your money before you realise it's broken.
>>
>>341702906
piracy is unavoidable in the long term, so it should be seen as cost of doing business. if you don't want pirating, move all the game logic to server side (like diablo 3 did) and pay it that way.

Because I don't feel like spending money on video games. New games cost a retarded amount of money (same price as america despite my country's significantly lower wages) that I would rather spend on something more useful in the long term.

I don't mind. I know Americans have millions of dollars to spend on videogames and kickstarters and giving their money to feminist patreons so I can feel safe pirating, knowing that my hobby is not going to die thanks to you guys.

Thanks America.

PC gaming isn't as popular because it takes basic understanding of a computer to do. Most people not born between 1980 2000 (and didnt use computers) don't have even the most rudimentary understanding of how a computer works. They know how to turn it on, put in a CD and MAYBE download steam, maybe. I really do wish I wasnt being serious or was wrong.
