Good, but it became unplayable for me when the Encounter Rate got so fucking high that I couldn't take one step with encountering a Demon. Coupled with the fact that I was playing the iOS Version, the slowdown was unbearable, so I eventually dropped it shortly after the Arachne Battle.
It's okay. It has some weird stuff like the Tokyo land alignment mini game not really working correctly most of the time or getting on endless loops in conversations with demons.
The game is also really easy, I played through most of it without demons, only used them against boss battles for those buffs.

It's fun but really broken (easiest SMT by far) and the encounter rate is annoying. The demons are also kinda useless except as meat shields and there's no customization like in the sequels.

I respect it as an important game in the series, but it's been improved on by every other game.
I've been playing it on and off for a while, but the encounter rate just makes it incredibly boring.
The faster you can play through it the better.
As above anons said, the encounter rate makes the game less fun to play. It's a shame too, since it has some of the coolest story moments in the series.

It's fantastic for its time and I find the art direction phenomenal even tho it hasn't aged the best. The story is unheard of for video games when it came out and partly was the reason why it didn't come to the U.S

Haven't played it yet since I've only gotten up to Medusa in Megaten 1.
I wish the event triggers were a little more leniant.
When I played it and heard about the resistance being down in the basement I spent like 3 hours (including encounters) checking each and every single tile to find the resistance group. But it turns out before you can actually find them you have to talk to a dude in a corner of one of the three identical bars.

Law Hero just kind of stumbled into things trying to save his GF throughout the apocalypse, and then eventually winds up helping the Angels directly.
All 4 heroes were already chosen by fate though, whether it was predetermined that they would go down those paths or not.
He was also really fucking strong as a human to be able to fight alongside you and demons for a good while.

The snes port is one of the worst ports of a nes game I have ever seen in my entire life. My god I`m still mad about it.
Not very good. I'm not sure why I even forced myself to finish it. The gameplay is rather basic and extremely repetitive, the story is somewhat interesting but is sparse, the exploration is tedious due to random battles, etc
