Early TW2 Geralt actually looked alright.
You're right though, the whole crux of his character is that he's an ugly misanthropic fuck, sucks that they turned him into Nathan Drake with cat eyes.

I don't rightly agree with that anon. TW1 Geralt was a reset of who he is and some parts of his personality. He rediscovers/discovers things about himself that he takes with him into the next game. TW2 and TW3 is less about learning about Geralt and more about just him reacting to adventures and shit.

Probably not. TW2 is a slog, it's the ME2 of the series in that literally nothing happens and by the end you're right back where you were at the end of the first game.
There are some good quests and it's still probably worth playing, but don't feel bad about just putting it on easy and mainlining it.

Is it me or is The Witcher 1 pure goodbad?
It's got horrible production values and fucked up mechanics and its filled with trashy sex and wonky cheesy dialogue, but it's engaging and the characters are interesting.
Would it be accurate to call TW1 a pulpy fantasy story?
Also, is it me or is Geralt sort of childish in this game? He gets drunk and gets yelled at by women all the time.

The production values aren't all that bad I've seen a lot worse.
The problem with the dialogue is that it's poorly translated from the original polish so stuff gets lost in meaning, and the English voice actors got very poor direction

TW1 was a slow starter for me as well but I was hooked from chapter 3 onwards.
TW2 never clicked for me. I thought it was a shitpile the entire way through. It's like the devs were in a race to include as many half-baked mechanics as they could fit in the game.
