the bosses and enemies were very obviously designed by a tryhard who doesn't understand nuance or subtlety.
The designs often don't have any thematic relevance at all, it's literally "this happened to this person so they look like this as a boss".

yeah man, great symbolism there.
I like how they make you work for it, I really didn't get it until I reflected on it for awhile.
Asphyxia and the Siam creatures were visually interesting, but that's all I can say.
Homecoming, like Origins felt very much like movie tie-ins because thats was the aesthetic they went for.
They both even featured Pyramid Head or versions of the character at points.
As far as games in the series that were developed by a third party, at least the Shattered Memories for Wii tried to be original.

How the fuck could Yamaoka put that as the main theme of SH3? It's nice but the fucking lyrics have nothing at all to do with the game.
Just like how Theme of Laura is complete shit for SH2
Don't get me wrong, they are nice songs but really don't fucking fit the mood of both games at least not as main themes
