Everything else about it is hot trash. The music and overrated annoying ass chiptune bullshit meant to hype you up over a text-based game (Bad design), gameplay is boring and repetitive, the "Puzzles" aren't actually puzzles, the characters are so god damned annoying and unfunny that its almost cringworthy. Yeah, but other games aren't focused on consistency as much as Undertale. The game tries its hardest to have characters whose goals and motivations can be understood with common sense, at least for a single day. For example, fighting a ghost because he's sleeping in the middle of the road is lolsorandom, but why Napstablook was sleeping in the middle of the road in the first place surprisingly has a reasonable in-game explanation that can be discovered through dialogue.
Also, I know Alphys has her problems, but if you want to shit on somebody, it should be Sans. He KNOWS what's going on, he's such a hardcore fatalist he doesn't waste two minutes of his time tipping Asgore off to save fucking universe. And even if he didn't want to trust Asgore, if Sans could have trusted at least one fucking monster with his problems, he could have beaten you on his own. All he'd have to do is use his special attack, and then his calls his partner out from behind a pillar who wails on you until you die. I think the most confusing part about all this is that Undyne inspires Alphys to get her act together with a phone call that happens only in genocide, which is why Alphys pays attention to your fight with Undyne this time including watching her die. It's clear she couldn't use the true lab elevator to go straight to Asgore if she's busy running around ahead to you to manually disable the door puzzles, but why couldn't she call him? Does he not his phone on? And where does she evacuate the monsters to? True Lab? Some part of the world we can't walk to?
Honestly, Asgore not knowing what's going on in Genocide is pretty stupid. I'd rather have him be far too hesitant to absorb the souls because of the massive risks involved than to be completely clueless about the whole situation.
