All Kirby platform games are great (excluding the first one for Gameboy which never impressed me even when I was a kid putting aside its great graphics and animation), including Planet Robobot.
64 was never the best and Robobot isn't the best either.
However, Doctor is the best ability.

Don't forget about Triple Deluxe and Return to Dreamland though. RtD was solid, nothing ground breaking but a relief. Triple Deluxe built on that and I was really impressed with it.

I have a soft spot for 64 because I love the visuals and music, but it's not exactly a joy to play.
The only really good Kirby I've played is Kirby's Adventure. Great open level design, you move fast (a lot of Kirby games are sluggish and boring), take less than 10 hits to die, and the fact you fall fast & take a while to balloon means the platforming isn't completely trivial

Fighter. A true man fights purely with his fist. Along with a varied and useful moveset (several moves have good amounts of invincibility frames, grabbing stars and chucking them back does crazy damage and bouncing on their heads with the drop kick makes you whittle down their health while they can't even hit you), it's easily my favorite.
Plus, finishing a boss with the uppercut is amazingly satisfying.

Of course, what else would it be?
Maybe Fruit Kirby could also have cherry grenades and bowling with a durian, making it the high-powered, delayed activation ability that Kirby has always needed. Everything would be situational and hard to use, but it would absolutely shred bosses if used right. Kind of like Jet and Plasma, but without the extra mobility, and instead with more power.

Hold B to keep it in front of you and walk around with it.
Dash + B to shoot forward at great speed with your drill in front of you
Air B to once again shoot forward, but in the air.
Air Down + B to point the drill and fall down rapidly.
Up + Down + B: Jump up and then forcefully drill the ground below you, sending out a shockwave on both sides that travels along the ground.
Up + B: Point your drill triumphantly to the sky, making it grown in size. You can do this two times for the biggest size. It hurts enemies above you, but it's mainly used as a charge: the next attack you do does way more damage now. The effect is gone after one use.

Flower Sectonia still had a lot of hype to it, specially how she animated and the slow progression closer and closer to the background, and I was just a sucker for all the originality and the whole theme of the big bad obsessed with beauty.
It also helps that its was all mostly regular gameplay, you can play it a lot of ways, meanwhile Star Dream is really only played one way, works great for the dramatic finale the first time around, but its not much more interesting playing it again and brings the True Arena down a bit.
Overall though I'm not disagreeing, I'm legitimately torn on which I like more, but I think that's overall a good thing, variety and what not while all still really good. I feel this way PR and TD stand on their own fine, and aren't really replaced by the other.

It's always a good thing when games are so good that you can't choose. Going to be honest though, I've replayed the SD fight a ton and I still can't get tired of it. Same for Sectonia DX, I love using Dedede against her.It feels good to have fun with games

TD ran so goddamn smooth, I always admired HAL giving us the best performance without anyone having to ask, so it really bummed me when frames dipped here and there, but I understand it was optimized for N3DS and it allowed for some crazier shit. The frame drops aren't anything super major, its just slightly disappointing, but then again its probably like the best they could get it and they busted their ass to achieve it instead of giving it New exclusivity.
As for why, I feel there's a lot more background elements and entities in this one, it dips specifically when too many enemies or things happen on screen
