I preordered a PS4 months before because I was still asssmad about last gen.
I didn't own a Wii, PS3, or 360. Sometime back in about 2009 I told myself "the console generation should be ending soon, so I'll just wait until the next one."
I didn't expect that it would be the longest console generation in history.
I bought a PS4 as soon as I could just so I would have my foot in the door. I didn't want to talk myself down from buying one for every game the way I did with the previous consoles.

Its fucking taboo to say this around these parts but SFV. I HATED fighting games but SFIV wooed me slowly and got me into fighting games and the FGC in general, so it holds a special place in my heart. When SFV came around, my PC (I should mention its a laptop) was not good enough to run it and for the money, and instead of blowing 1k on a decked out PC, $350 was an ok price to pay and I got the benefit of being able to play other next gen games for the same investment. I did however, buy the $250 dollar limited edition Chun-Li TE2 fighstick so.... I guess you could say I spent $250 dollars on SV and (arguably) and extra $350... being single has it's advantages?

For the $5 I got it for, it wasn't that bad. I can't imagine paying $60 for it though. It feels like shovelware. Like it has that shovelware, middle of the generation "we need a game to put out" feeling. And that made me sad. Hopefully the crash remakes are successful though, and we'll see a proper new crash game.
Probably that Uncharted Collection bundle with pricedrop PS4 last winter.
Always wanted to try them out and they were decent.

I get that they're expensive but i believe with every fiber of my being that you achieve better performance with a stick
Feels fucking weird at first but the ability to use all of your fingers (vs your thumbs and index) and having a bigger area to play (vs cluttered buttons and tiny movements with the directional pad / Directional stick is better, no doubt.

this one has the stick slightly further from the buttons than the one I have and some rudimentary padding on the bottom, pretty much the same stick
the kai there used to have older shittier buttons and apparently more input lag, but they updated the model to match the one I got so it seems there's only minor differences between them now

MCC/Halo 5 when they were pretty cheap Black Friday 2014. Disappointed by both, luckily backwards compatibility came around and has kept my huge 360 collection relevant.
Sunset Overdrive, KI and Rare Replay are also great. It just sucks that we're fucked in terms of exclusives until the Scorpio comes out, if not forever.
That said, I'd be even more mad if I bought a PS4 instead because of the Neo launching so soon. I may just buy a Neo or the next model, really want that new Spidey (pending reviews, of course)

I mostly play on PC, there is no such thing as "generations".
I am going to jump to next gen when I buy an R9 and a 700W PSU.
I think something might push that decision ahead, but I'm not sure what yet.

Destiny. Everyone in my circle of friends was playing it and I decided to jump aboard when Taken King was out. I got it and Uncharted Remastered Trilogy for free when I bought the console.

Leaks (which showed its existence in the first place say end of this year, early next). 99% sure it's already in production as well.
I haven't bought a PS4 yet, but I'm probably going to by the end of the year for XV, World of FF and a few other weeaboo titles.
