Super competitive team-based games get a pass for having toxic communities. (L4D, MOBAs) Because that's the nature of grouping up with people you've never met before and expecting them to perform on the level.
Now communities in MMORPGs like FFXIV do not get a pass. The worst are those guild retards that want to get treated like a special snowflake and get carried through endgame raiding without putting in the time to learn their role. They actually spend DOZENS of hours getting to max level and at no point during any of that leveling did they learn what their spells do and how they can help the team.

I actually used to be apart of a gaming group where we'd frequently play Battlefield 4 on 360. It was an overall heckin' fun time to be had but I eventually got tired of their shit because they took the game to serious. Me and one of the admins (guess he could be considered the "squad leader", or whatever) would get in fights often about different views on playing the game.
