Thanks to that chink developer who literally said "if you want a Mario RPG, play Mario & Luigi!" in that interview today, the paperfags are going to run wild with it like they did with the Sticker Star Iwata Asks, reposting it everywhere they go, shitting all over M&L and the fans who like it.
We'll never hear the end of it.
Less dialogue, more exploration and combat. Could barely get through Superstar Saga when you spend 2 hours listening to dialogue, then 30 minutes fighting stuff.
This series is stagnant as fuck right now.
They have to go back to the first game. It was amazingly open, getting new abilities to open up new places and exploring the well crafted overworld was great.

On topic, I'd like to see the return of Bros. moves and maybe the Firebrand/Thunderhand. I'm not a huge fan of the item approach, and I prefer Mario and Luigi doing neat combos with their skills rather than pulling out a wacky item.

This. SS had a linear first half and a really open second half, which worked great. Every game since has been linear the whole way through. I would like if we went back to a single overworld instead of a hubworld in each game.

The weird thing is there's no reason we can't have both. Just treat attack items as regular items with a limited supply and action commands. Then have Bros Moves that take up BP to use.

Really would prefer if they went back to 2D. The fps on Paper Jam is shit. I stopped playing once I found out you have to beat all the Koopa Kidd again. Lazy design at it's finest. I loved SSS and BiS. More of that would be nice.

I can see why people like Superstar Saga more than 64. 64 is my favorite game, but Saga has a better story/writing than 64, and it's defensive mechanics in battles are better than PMs in general.
Superstar Saga was an all around decent game, but Partners in Time is one of the worst games I've ever played. What happened there? Is the rest of the series that bad?

I say this in a lot of threads, but if you're a fan of Mario RPGs (and FF I guess) and haven't played Barkley Gaiden, I highly recommend it. It has the QTE-lite combat that Mario RPGs are known for and it's also pretty fucking funny.

TTYD sold 1.9mil. on a low selling Nintendo console
SPM sold 4.2mil. on a high selling Nintendo console
SS sold 2.2mil. on a high selling Nintendo console
and the big surprise is that not that many 3DS owners give a shit about Sticker Star unlike GCN fans.
