They were painfully boring during the 90's, and they are almost inexcusable now.
I didn't like it at all, I recognize that others did but I just could not see the appeal at all. The writing+story are godawful and I think the only people who like it are those who think hard=good. Gameplay was boring too imo

The parts where you could actually play the game were okay but the game literally stops every other fucking screen for dialogue and cutscenes, all of which is completely obnoxious. It's absolutely ridiculous how often that shit interrupts the game.

it's definitely in my top 3 for games of 2016. the final boss is what sold me on it. i spent 5 hours on irisu but it wasn't actually cheap, every single pattern, every single attack can be dodged through learning and expertise; most bosses are like that. it really is such a well designed game. add on top of that DMC styled combo mechanics for boosting damage/score and you got yourself a top-tier game.
it really is a damn shame not many people can look past the art style or even the fact that the graphics are absolute trash - it has a lot of heart underneath it

It's good, but surprisingly poorly optimized. I thought I could run it at high FPS on my craptop but some parts lag like hell. It might be because I'm using a pirated version, there may have been a patch to help performance but I'm not sure.
I'm stuck at chapter 7 right before Irisu because I can't time my movements right to pass the spike rooms.
