You do realize that they had already done something similar to the RE7 demo right? The Kitchen demo from last year was Capcom showing off Resident Evil as well, they just didn't have a fancy VII to Resident Evil transition back then.
All Capcom said was that the main game would have a different character as lead, but we're still getting a first person exploration action game. We've been given two oddball prologues to RE7.
