The thing I'm, weirdly, most interested in is that Platinum is (in)famous for making games meant to be played through multiple times, at ever-increasing difficulties and with an ever-expanding arsenal of abilities, to slowly master the combat systems.
Meanwhile Nier is (in)famous for requiring so many playthroughs to really experience the whole story.
It'll be interesting to start the game over again to try to "pure plat run" it or whatever like you would when playing Bayo, only the story starts to veer in a different direction as you progress.

I believe one of the short stories also stated that one of the clones that Emil created of himself went missing, implied to be nabbed by the aliens. So they probably based their robot designs off of him, you can really see it in the concept art with the robots face torn away.
