I still enjoyed GoW1-2 to an extend but had lost all interested and never touched 3 nor any of the spinoffs. It's all too much of just the same again and again.

Its not open world, its just going to have more side paths that lead to small things.
Its closer to the Tomb Raider reboots then. There is a linear story, one way to progress but you can find and do shit on the side for other rewards.

Personally I like the idea of an older Kratos absolutely simmering with every bit as much rage as he had in his youth but keeping it just below the surface until he has to explode.

I'm actually really excited. It looks great.
It's a shame. I really liked GoW3, it seemed that they had the gameplay down (about as good as you're gonna get for a Western hack n slash) and some of the set pieces were really exciting. Story was trash but Kratos's RAGE was always funny to watch.
Never played Ascension but what the fuck happened? Who thought that dumbing the gameplay down to TLOU melee combat without guns/stealth was a good idea? I will never touch this shit.

They weren't absolutely "The Best" games, But they were still a lot of fun.

Writing him off as having reincarnated as some Nordic guy who's quite not angry and has his family still alive would make more sense.
This is somehow the same Kratos that teared the Greek Pantheon apart in a fit of rage, then suddenly he is onto the Nordic Pantheon being a chilled dad.
Dad of war sounds pretty cool and GOW3 is mediocre at best so whatever, not like the series will lose something special or truly awesome.

From the interview, its said this is pre-migration aka before the Norse gods were godly. So after Kratos fucked and flooded the world, humanity rebuilt itself and now the people who become the Norse gods are walking among humans.
Fighting godly humans won't be a big aspect of the game, its still the frost giant part of Norse mythology

The only huge negative I have with this new one is the camera. Why is it positioned like that? It's as if the entire game is in cinematic mode. It's jarring as fuck and cuts off your entire left side of view when the camera is at neutral.
Change is good but they're really doing this the wrong way.

Pretty sure the way the GoW universe works is that there's just a superpowered race of gods that all mythological beings fall under and after the loss the Greek pantheon, the Norse gods get started on their shit. We'll probably get a prequel with Kratos's dad fucking up the Mesopotamians and Egyptians and ending those religions.
I also like that theory that the GoW universe works like the forest in Nightmare Before Christmas and Kratos found the door to Norsetown.

All games consists of many parts and what they did was split the game up into its bare parts and replaced some parts and put other parts together in a different way.
