Its funny because we've waited so long for KH3 that we feel entitled to it but there are so many other games that deserve sequels but nothing comes of it.
Kingdom Hearts has done quite well for itself as a franchise all things considered.

It's right after the Secret Episode of FM, presumably it ends around the time she meets Ansem the Wise maybe before, maybe she leaves after talking to him/he pops up in the retail version. The retail version is implied to be a lot longer. The E3 demo ends right after see has that Terra moment.
