Before the shooting segment started I expected it to be a new Killzone, lest we forget that Earth and Sol are part of Killzone's setting.
I was expecting the Helghast to be insane enough to build a fleet to fuck with Sol directly. It was only after they got out of the ship that I realized it was Infinite Warfare.
I kinda understand why a lot of CoD's fanbase would hate it, but it's the closest we'll get to Shattered Horizon 2 so I think it's worth it for that alone. Ironically getting closer to CoD killed that game.

It's not terribly different, they prototyped the spaceship section in black ops 2 when you fly that jet in singleplayer. And the shooting is same as it always has been, though the zero G floating around and using the zipline is cool.
Not sure it's substantial enough to be really seen as a different game but aesthetically at least it is a bold step and I do like that. Space is fucking great.

Yeah. Before we were thinking that maybe we could stay in our fight craft and take down the ship that way or that maybe there would be multiple ways to break into that ship and maybe this was some grand potentially great multiplayer game where an enemy team might be trying to do that against you.
When I saw "Call of Duty", I knew that would be the only breaching point, the fighter pilot segment would last as long as it took you to shoot down the enemy fighter pilot, and that everything we saw would be EXACTLY what we play every time. You don't get a story out of a game like this that you share with your friends about how awesome something you did is. You get a shooter full of awesome things happening that you don't control at all.

How does even make sense? Like all other COD reveals, they showed off one mission ripped from the campaign.
The only question is whether the space dogfighting is on-rails and how the MP will be. If it wasn't and the MP has space dogfighting, people will start changing their tunes.
BF1 had a better reveal and looks better visually, but that live MP match made it look boring as fuck.

I watched the gameplay trailer and the zero gravity space shooting looked cool with the grappling around. Sure, I'm absolutely sure it's another linear shooter game that plays out like a movie, but I think it's more interesting than what they've been doing with prior games in the series.

That's because you somehow can't differentiate "Looks exciting" from "Is exciting". Call of Duty makes explosions everywhere and bullets flying everywhere and woah look at how cool that breach into the bridge of the ship was! But in the end, what did YOU do? You pointed your gun at peoples heads and every explosion was press placed and you walked up to the breaching point with no thought like it's just any old door you need to walk through. At least Battlefield has some neat stuff like destroying cover and working as a team with classes and shit.

That's all cool and everything but these games are played for the ADD crowd who want instant action and gratification. COD MP matches provide that and that's why it's so successful. BF is less focused and more of a chaotic warzone but that wears off more quickly as you can't respawn and find an enemy 5 seconds later.
