Is this worth of buy?
>>
No.
>>
i'd wait until it's finished

otherwise you'll just get half of the experience now and get bored of it before it actually becomes a complete game
>>
No multiplayer, so no.

Maybe.

Played it for 60 hours, mostly just completing it, dropping it for month then starting a new game. It got that spooky or comfy feeling down depending on how deep you are
>>
>>341476396

EA is a constant risk even if the game has regular updates.

Rember the forest? shit felt like a blatant scam before they finally after like three years started updating regularly.

If it were complete now? Absolutely. And when it's finished, unless it's suddenly and completely destroyed, then it will be worth it.

But EA games should always be avoided until they're complete.

I like it. Played 14 hours so far and haven't even gone past 300 meters yet. It's comfy and sometimes spooky-comfy. I have this bug where a giant tentacle whale thing is rotating in place above the red seaweed biome.
>>
>>341476396

I had tons of fun with it for a few days and sperged happily about my experiences in these threads.

But frankly I'm a little bit bored of it and won't touch it again until it gets a couple more big updates and co-op support.

In other words, yes, you'll enjoy it, but I advise waiting. It's an excellent game so far.

How many bases can you have at any one time?

Could you conceivably build one on land and have it extend all the way down to the bottom depths?
>>
>>341482625
You can put text signs on them
>>
>>341482625

Outside of putting up signs for rooms and beacons for bases, no. You also can't customize the colour and such of your base, and I'm not sure if that's something they're going to add.
>>
>>341482773

I'm pretty sure you can have as many bases up as you want, and make them as big/long as you want, though I think the game will start getting glitchy with really big bases.

I figure something like that would be found late game, at the deepest depths.

You soar over what looks like an enormous valley with tall, spindly trees with little fluorescent tips, just barely visible through the black. What's strange, though, is that the topographical map isn't giving you any data on the valley, so you have to explore it by yourself.

In the center is a large chunk of the Aurora, which is what was hailing you towards this place. As you draw up to it, the strange current that had been stirring the trees stops entirely.

That's when you realize that the reason the map isn't giving you info on the valley is because there isn't one. The trees aren't trees. The current wasn't a current, but rather, a pulse.

It's when the single red eye, the size of a Cylops, opens up, that you realize you need to get the fuck out of there.

There's an island just about direct south from your starting pod. On that island are lantern plants, as well as some growth beds you can scan to build. Set up one of those things in a single multipurpose room, plant 1-4 lantern fruit, wait until they grow, and you'll never have to worry about food/water again.

It has potential, but you shouldn't buy it for the same reason you shouldn't get something like Starbound.

It's not complete.

If you buy it than it will have been a waste a money, you'll get frustrated, and then you'll be a stubborn shithead about even if it becomes good one day, which it probably won't because you and everyone else will have already bought it and shat on it, incentivizing the devs to not waste time polishing a turd nobody likes.

>Guns don't work underwater
Not true actually.
But I don't mind there being no guns in this game.

Oh god and I thought the reaper sounds were bad
>>
>>341499818

They eat Reefbacks, the glint of metal attracts them.
>>
>>341500612
>hey guys stop enjoying this game because the game devs said something problematic
Reminder that you anti-SJW fags are just as bad as real SJWs
Just shut the fuck up

>Searching for grand reef, some how end up in fucking Dunes. Establish beach head base there and move supplies to and from.
> " Huh, whats that strange noise? "
>>
Does it run like shit for anyone else? I love the game but it has constant pop in and my rig sounds like a wind tunnel
>>
First time I encountered a reaper I never even saw the fucker
Just heard a lot of spooky roars and noped the fuck out of the area
Guess he followed me because next thing I know I'm being eaten by it
Scared me really fucking bad
>>341514329
Yeah it's not well optimized, but they said that killing the pop-in is the next thing on the list
>>
>>341512535
Ah, my bad, I haven't checked the store page in a while and I bought this before subnautica was a thing. I was just going off my personal experiences
>>
Subnautica is the like, one of the three(?), early access games that I am one hundred percent behind

The devs are great people and keep us updated on EVERYTHING they do

great game desu

There was a bug a short while ago that caused my Cyclops to sink when I attempted to move from the cabin to the back of the cyclops. It caused my cyclops to slam into my moonpool and do damage to a different part of my base. I thought something had glitched out when I got back in my base, until I realized base damage was a thing and I had to fix it.
>>
>>341513539
Yeah, they're fucking gigantic
>>
>>341500612

>So Subnautica is one vote towards a world with less guns. A reminder that there is another way forward.

Ramming animals with submersibles.
>>
>>341515939
Where do they spawn?
>>
>>341514329
the pop in is a technical issue with unity that I'm hoping they'll get around to addressing eventually. it's gotten a lot better since early access started (and definitely since I started playtesting it) but it's still my number one pet peeve with the game. the mushroom forest is never going to be immersive until the pop in issues are addressed.

it's worth noting that Max McGuire (the main technical programmer at UWE) is one of the smartest people I've ever talked to so I have faith in him to figure it out eventually. dude's a fucking pixel wizard.

Not far from spawn
If I remember correctly they're northwest of the spawning area above the area with sandsharks

Jesus christ
I really like reefbacks because of their movement and the sounds they make, but that's too big for comfort

Fuck off, Carlos.

What effect do they have on the Cyclops?

Reefback? Above the crimson dunes and near the mushroom forest not far from the Aurora as well in the Void.
