What's a good SNES or N64 game with the style, speed, and fun of Devil May Cry? Obviously I'm not looking for anything nearly as pwerful, but just for something that makes you feel like an "effortless" badass.

i dont know if id say it was effortless to be badass in devil may cry but contra is very fast paced and badass not exactly effortless
megaman x also is pretty fuckin badass and fast and much more effortless than devil may cry also
i'd second terranigma too but it might not really be what you're looking for there is quite a bit of story and rpg elements, but it is an action rpg and you start off in the underworld and resurrect the dead earth above you one continent/life form at a time
