I love God of War. My favourite is 2 (Ghost of Sparta very close to it), and I am a big fan of David Jaffe/Cory Barlog's original idea for 3.But I am still open to new ideas, as the gameplay was always fun even in the weaker titles of the franchise, this might turn out to be really good. It's not the same, but what do you know, the free camera and crafting system might turn out to be even better.
Watch the trailers, lets plays and decide to buy for yourself. As a fan you should be happy they are trying to bring something new to the stale formula. Ascension had a really cool combat, but after playing the same thing over and over I was yawning often and couldn't wait to get through the next combat segment. This game seems huge, even if it might be a corridor, thanks to the new mechanics.

The new additions to this game are very promising (crafting, additional RPG elements, exploration) and if people from Naughty Dog are helping, I can't wait. It looks pretty good and from the demo they showed us the combat style has changed but the brutality of it has not, which is nice. I've played the other games and I'm pretty glad they're moving Kratos in a new direction. I was getting tired of always yelling Kratos and it was nice to see that they continuing his character growth from God Of War 3. It could suck but I have high hopes it will not.
