We've been to Kanto in Gen I, Gen II, Gen III, Gen IV, re-released the gen I games on the eshop AND made them forward compatible with gen VII AND in Gen VI they purposefully made a bunch of throwbacks for nostalgiafags (Viridian forest 3d remake, etc).
