Can we talk about something for a bit?
Why are so many VR games (or "Experiences") all about putting yourself into a stressful, scary experience? Does anyone actually ENJOY stressing themselves out this way, or is it entirely just people cashing in on Youtube "look how loud I can screech" fame?
Personally, I don't much care for it. Give me Subnautica any day, I'll play that shit for hours; give me a shooter or anything else challenging and I'll have plenty of fun; but give me a stressful, dimly-lit jumpscare fest and I just CAN'T see why anyone would want to play it. Hell, I even enjoy more typical spooky fare like Amnesia, but in VR? Fuck that. Why would you do this to yourself- just because devs won't make anything else because they think it's what you want based on Youtube shitters?

>Why would you do this to yourself
because it's fun?
I don't really have any vested interest in VR but I find horror games more immersive than most. Some people just dig that sort of thing, man. Don't lose sleep over it or anything.

Nigga no it ain't
who the fuck enjoys getting scared? At best you enjoy the adrenaline rush, but there are other fucking ways to get the adrenaline pumping in VR. INFINITE other ways.

It's the same as any other horror media. Some people enjoy the tension and release, it's okay if you don't.

You're getting awfully presumptuous here. Some people can find fun in being scared. It's not unheard of.

Inform yourself. There are more comfy walk simulators for VR than intense stuff, unfortunately. Just look at the Ubisoft's Eagle thing, exclusive of Playstation 4 (*also coming to PC)

They're anouncing a few Oculus Touch games. Did they reveal the release date for it?
I hear Ya
We'll never get the porn because this will be dead on arrival with all its jump scare shit
I'd like a Penguin VR experience. I want to be a Penguin in a Penguin colony. Walking large snowy areas, playing with my fellow Penguins, fishing tasty fishes etc.

yes, people enjoy playing horror games. no it is not stressful, its a video game. can we talk about how its possible for people to be naive as you are?
>>341314823
As a massive pussy I can say that I don't enjoy horror games of any kind.
Shit's scary.
I don't know how people can like any horror things. I'm not saying they shouldn't enjoy them, but I just don't get the appeal. Then again I get almost too anxious to play when singleplayer fps games leave me alone with no teammate AI's around

Nope

Fucking underwater diving game is your non stressful alternative?
>>341317459
Why do you think people still write horror novels and make horror films if no one likes being scared?
>>341314823
I'm with you OP. I'm not a fan of horror in any media.
>>341318567

horror games ain't shit on a screen, but in vr with headphones on it's fucking scary yo
But tbqh that wasn't even my full complaint in my post, it's that it's the fucking MAJORITY of shit being made. I want variety goddammit

shit dude don't even remind me. I can't find VR porn games to save my life, I've even resorted to checking plebbit but the boards there only have 3dpd videos and shit- no games

hell yeah, my dude. Shit's fucking amazingly comfy, and pretty, and the only source of stress is your own ability to manage your oxygen w/o killing yourself. No worries about satan suddenly spawning on your nuts.

>No worries about satan suddenly spawning on your nuts.
Doesn't Subnautica have giant sea monsters and shit?
>>341320710
they've moved them to only spawn in an area very far out with nothing to entice you to even explore there and you can hear them from miles away before actually seeing them so there's really nothing worrying
There are a few creepy crawly cave monsters that might startle you a little bit but you'll generally be untouchable sitting in your Seamoth exploring since you can't manage o2 to get there otherwise
