New elusive target is out. Only this one plus another one for that sweet Absolution suit.

Also, for those who haven't heard yet, we're getting two new episodes on July 19. They're side episodes that re-use the same areas from previous episodes and change assets around. They both happen at night and one turns Sapienza into a sci-fi movie set.
>>
>>341309292
Is it still a matter of knocking the bodyguard out and dragging him to a room no one goes into then doing the same with the target?
>>
>>341309619
This time he can run away, apparently.
>>
>>341311023
Also, he doesn't have a looping pattern and apparently just leaves after a while.
>>
Where the fuck is he?
>>
>>341313186
Good question, looking for him and can't find him anywhere.
>>
fucking word filters ain't working again

>>
>>341313186
Nevermind, found him. He's in the garden.
>>
>>341312686
Shit, how do you SA him, then?
>>
>>341315131
I might be wrong on that. It was just my assumption based on the briefing video saying he tends to move fast before leaving. Be careful.
>>
>>341315131
I'm looking to poison him personally. Obviously with rat poison. If I used the lethal stuff that would ruin my SA, correct?
>>
>>341315461
That might just be a flavor text, "act immediately" and all that.

>>341315568
SA is no evidence, not spotted, kills not spotted, bodies not found (unless accident) so it probably would since most drinks are in public.
>>
are all the infiltration points (starting locations) available during this?

they restricted starting at the church for the last one is why I ask
>>
>>341315831
Yeah, I just thought maybe they'd be warning me about it on the briefing. Now that I've spent some time with him, I can safely say he stays in the same place, though.
>>
>>341318679
Oh, okay then. Guess it's time for the usual scouting routine.
>>
I tell ya this guy is taking his sweet ass time to drink from that glass again.
>>
>>341319153
Don't forget to dispose of his bodyguard (if he has one) first.
>>
Well I guess I'm going for a safe bet here like I did with the congressman. Snipe him from sniper nest and GTFO.
>>
>>341318679
is it snipeable from the barge? I couldn't see any guards inside there when I tested it out in the normal campaign
>>
>>341319153
he only drinks from it once, it's empty after the first drink

either restart while he's still alive or wing it now anon
>>
>>341320103
WHY WOULD YOU DESIGN IT LIKE THIS
>>
>>341309619
Seems like this one doesn't have bodyguards around, actually, although he's in a very secure area.
>>
>>341309292
Does just completing the elusive target count toward the suit or do you have to get silent assassin?
>>
Got my silent assassin on this guy, thank you emetic poison. The dude runs all the way to a bathroom, then pukes in a trash can. I'm a bit dissapointed i didn't get to drown him.
>>
>>341321905
just do the contract.
>>
>>341322369
What i am curious about is if you fail the mission but still kill the target, does it count? Cause i fucked up the first target and died, but still eliminated the guy. My challenge thing confirms that the target died, but the mission was still a failure. Do we know which it counts for the suit?
>>
Welp, didn't get silent assasin since apparently I was spotted. Must have been from the coin I threw to get him to stop drinking from the glass when I got anywhere near him.
>>
Poisoned the motherfucker, fiber-wired him in the bathroom. Easy peasy.

>>
>>341309619
>>341320772
>>341319695
Super short, foolproof SA route incoming. Speed is a factor because this relies on you poisoning his drink which he only uses once:

>start as Tech with Emetic poison
>immediately grab fireworks trigger and use it on the spot (this buys you time as everyone stops their loop to look at the fireworks)
>run to the library with the lights out where there is one waiter on his phone just chilling
>close the doors on your way in, grab a bust, knock out the waiter with the bust, dress as him, leave through the doors closest to you and CLOSE THOSE DOORS on the way out (saves you having to hide the body)
>run down the stairs, out the back and into the garden party. The guards will not need to frisk you so you can safely sprint by them
>AVOID the other waiter. Sprint to the vodka glass and poison it.
>follow him as he goes allllll the way to the fucking bathroom indoors. kill him and gtfo.

0 chance of discovery unless you cross the other waiter in the garden

guaranteed SA in under 5 minutes.
>>
>>341317605
Every infiltration point is available. They did that because the Church was different and heavily guarded instead of being an open space in that elusive target.
>>
>>341323763
When I was dressed up as a waiter it said I was trespassing when entering the garden party.
>>
>>341319153
He only drinks once, the cheeky motherfucker.
>>
Is it worth it to buy the game now?
>>
>>341323698
Also looking forward to it, I doubt it will be limited time only. Each destination could end up with multiple contracts outside the story one.
>>
>>341323982
There are waiter and than there a waiters. The one on the phone is the later. aka I guess the auction staff.
>>
>>341323982
should have specified: this route gives you the Auction Staff disguise (black/purple vest) which has the same permissible actions as a waiter (poisoning drinks will not raise suspicion, nor will carrying knives etc) but has more location permissions. I didn't know that the normal waiters (red vest) weren't allowed in the garden, but either way using that route you get in scott-free
>>
>>341323698
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvMDRqv5dbw
>>
>>341323763
You also have to mind the cameras while doing that route, it's easy to accidentally run into one on the second floor.

Also if you might not have emetic poison unlocked, there's rat poison in the shed near the garden.
>>
>>341323698
>>341324489
although these use modified versions of existing locations similar to Elusive Targets, together they constitute the 7th "bonus" episode and will not have timed accessibility. They are played just like normal episodes and will appear as separate missions inside their respective destinations in the menu.
>>
>>341324567
>>341324635
Ah ok that explains it. Well I ended up sniping him from the barge anyways.
>>
>>341309292
OP be honest, how much per post are you getting paid to shill this?
>>
>>341323763
That's basically how I did it, only I was a bit more careful. I didn't use the fireworks because it wasn't necessary and hid the Auction Staff's body. I was able to do it fast enough to still run just ahead of him and poison the drink right in front of his eyes.
>>
>>341325448
Oh wow a fucking franchise from 2000 can't have a strong fan base.

Don't you have overwatch porn to fap to?
>>
>>341322695
No idea, if I had to guess, it doesn't count.
>>
>>341323698
They aren't limited time only, they'll be here forever. Also, you'll get to make your own contracts inside them.

Speaking of Contracts, have they fixed that shit yet? I play the featured contracts but have never bothered making my own, since there's no search or like/dislike or favorite system and they just get lost in the hundreds.
>>
>>341325221
can't wait to skulk around the dark streets of sapienza with my circumcision knife
>>
>>341325740
that's impressive
I used the fireworks because I tried it 3 times without, and each time I arrived at him while he was already drinking.

The first time I acted normally, strangled the waiter and hid his body

Second time I said fuck it to hiding the body in an effort to get there faster, so that's where I closed the doors

Third time I grabbed the bust to knock him out quicker, still couldn't cut it.

Fourth is when I'd absolutely had it and triggered the fireworks. As a result, when I got to the guy there was a full 40 seconds or so of spare time with him oohing and ahhing when I got down there but at least it was clean.
>>
>>341323763
I've just finished it this way, can confirm it works. In fact, I think that was the intended way designed by IO.
>>
>>341324429
I'd say so, but I'm probably among the Top 100 biggest Hitman fans in the world, so I'm not really a fair judge.

I'll definitely be able to tell you if you like the game in 2017, when it's actually finished. I guess it's possible that they could fuck up the last few missions.
>>
>>341326512
same, super glad it's going to get a night version, that's fucking great.

I'm also really pumped for the alternate take on marrakesh but apparently I'm the only one who really loves that map as it is right now
>>
Do the fireworks cover up the bang of the non silenced sniper rifle? Just wondering, already did it with the silenced one.
>>
>>341326730
I also enjoy Marrakesh but it's just the curse of Arab settings that always makes them too bland.
>>
>>341325448

>>
>>341326375
they need to make it so the methods and disguises aren't optional. If I kill the target wearing a cyclist outfit and a cannonball, then the person attempting the contract should have to as well.
>>
>>341326059
The OP post just screams "work shopped to appear natural" marketing drivel. Focusing on an earnable cosmetic, the op pic, they way the info in the post itself is worded, it just screams shill to me.

I definitely went for a speedrun like run. Didn't bother closing any doors on my way, just choked the waiter out, dragged him to the closet and disguised as him. Then I went down through the kitchen on the left for quick access to the outside. I barely just made it as he was getting right to the drink, but I put myself in front of him and poisoned the drink right in front of him, left him and he just drank it.

>MFW I'm not even in the top 20 anyways
How the fuck did someone manage to get a score of over 200? I call bullshit.
>>
>>341319959
i eventually just snuck into the party, with the sniper rifle, sniping him like from the far corner, then dropping the gun and just walking away.

i never can get the SA challenges because the AI is so fucking wonky and unreliable.
>>
>>341326730
I don't love Marrakesh but I enjoyed it a lot. Doesn't hold a candle to Paris and Sapienza though.
>>
>>341326730
It's alright, I guess. I'm sure I'll like it way more at night since I'm sick of day brown Arabian settings.

I wonder how much the bonus levels will be changed. You can see the one area in Sapienza that looks basically completely different because of all the wacky movie set, but what about the outside? Are they gonna change patrols there too? Are they gonna add new dialogue there?

And in Marrakesh they seemed to be implying that a building would be under construction. The Embassy, maybe?

>Diana makes it especially clear who put a contract on most of the targets
That's a minor nitpick but I really enjoyed how in other Hitman games everything was really vague. Sure, some missions made it quite clear what was going on (i.e. Till Death Do Us Part) but they still didn't explicitly state the contractor.

Abusing challenges maybe. You can get some pretty insanely high score if you do a perfect run and on top of that squeezes any kind of undone challenge from that run.

Is it too much to ask for a new Sniper Challenge also.I fucking loved the one they made pre Absolution.
>>
>>341326773

>>
>>341323763
you dont actually need to hurry from the beginning. npc actions seem to only start when you're within a certain range. you will see npcs walk around on the map but they won't actually engage in any of their actions like drinking, using their phones etc. the routine only starts once you're close enough so activating fireworks that early isn't necessary

4 kills 1 SA

what's the closest to fucking up you've gotten in one of these while still managing to get out alive?

I shot the governor in the back of the head while he was in the basement wine tasting because I thought I was far enough away that with no direct line of sight on anyone else I wouldn't immediately be compromised (instead going through the normal searching then compromised progression where I would be revealed to everyone in the immediate vicinity but outside of that location word would not spread until they interacted with the other guards)

Instead I was immediately launched into full combat and all the guards were alerted to me. I sprinted away down the corridors trying to lose them and find the boiler room with a gardener costume I could change into but took a wrong turn in a panic and ended up in a dead-end room with nothing but a laundry hamper.

Thinking I could wait it out I hid in the hamper and just watched while a mass of guards just waited right outside the room. I was totally fucked. So I opened the door, threw the pale duck into the hallway and detonated it killing like 4 people, then shot my way out. By some miracle I survived, changed into a guard costume and legged it.
>>
Do guards spot Breach Charges?
>>
>>341330486
Of course you can but it's way harder because combat AI is less than braindead and there are way more NPCs.
>>
>>341330486
you can but it's incedibly hard due to hitmans low damage resistant
>>

>>341328959
/4kill4SA/ here as well, familia. It got a million times easier when I realized I could just restart as long as I wasn't dead or had killed the target.

The Cardinal is also my favorite target so far, although I really liked this model one as well, just because he had no bodyguards and was in a secure area that was different. The first two elusive targets were more boring. Wonder when we'll be getting those leaked twins.

>>341330486

>>
>>341330147
>the good stuff from Absolution
but it didn't take Mark & Execute, which was genuinely the coolest thing about Absolution.

It let you set up awesome movie-like kills. Knock a guy out then immediately and expertly shoot his partner behind me, etc. I loved the shit out of it and every time I'm doing a loud playthrough I miss it, especially when I'm at a double-guard frisk checkpoint. Adding that little extra cinematic flare to knocking out the guy frisking me then killing his partner would be so goddamn great.
>>
>>341330486
There aren't respawn waves but going on a massacre spree is harder than it's ever been. They get 5 good shots on you and you're done. Your health does thankfully regenerate, but I guarantee you it will be harder than going on shootouts in any of the other games.
>>
>>341330831
>and sometimes the AI will see you kill a guard through walls

>>341330554
>what's the closest to fucking up you've gotten in one of these while still managing to get out alive?
I also nearly fucked up the governor. I managed to get him in the laundry room with a coin, I killed him with the fiber wire and put him in the body dumpster. Literally 1 to 2 seconds later, a bodyguard of his shows up to check on him. If I was just a bit slower, there'd go my SA ranking.

Also, I played the first Elusive Contract without knowing I could restart, so I actually got shot and lost, but due to some magical bug, when I opened the game up again, he was there as if nothing had happened. Got lucky as fuck.
>>
>>341330554
The most intense one was the first target for me.

>Feel all nervous because it was hyped out to be some hardcore thing
>People knew you can restart by then but I still decided to play it safe
>Read an easy way on /v/ with doing it right after spawning as a tech guy
>Choke his bodyguard right as he was exiting the room
>Aim the gun at his head and shoot him JUST as he was opening the door
>Door open, he's lying right in the corridor
>OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT
>Quickly drag him in, hide the body and close the door
>Two guards pass by several seconds later
Good thing NPCs don't react to blood in this game.
>>
>>341330831
it's rare but very repeatable
like it's not unpredictable, there are specific spots where for some reason NPCs can see straight through walls.

In paris, there's a thin segment of wall in the room below the sheik's (on the wall facing the bathroom that the girl with the IAGO invite who talks on the phone goes) where you can be seen even with the door closed.
>>
>>341331173
I think the game you're looking for is Max Payne, or GTA V, or Red Dead Redemption, or any other of all the slow motion action shooters that aren't Hitman.
>>
>>341331765

I'm not that guy but I imagine adding that small feature would have made the game feel more rich
>>
>>341331429
Nothing extreme happened to me, but I actually did notice that during the Cardinal mission, there was someone that was seeing me through a wall when I was in the main chapel room. It wasn't a guard, I think it was one of the church guys. I noticed it early and managed to avoid getting in that position again.

I would definitely be frustrated if I lost on an Elusive Contract because of a bug like that. I really do hope they start rotating them eventually, the idea of losing on challenges for literally ever because you weren't playing available to play the game during a weekend or the game bugged out on you is ridiculous.
>>
>>341331420

>>

no, I'm not looking for an action shooter, which is exactly why I liked having the option not to have to rely on my twitch shooting skills. It's the opposite of wanting an action shooter. If that mechanic, which trivializes the act of shooting, were in a shooter it would be counterproductive.

In a hitman game, where the act of shooting is meant to be a) entirely optional (and ideally unused) while still maintaining that b) Agent 47 is a highly trained, expert marksman almost without peer, that mechanic fit seamlessly with the game.

>>341332341
The skillset in hitman has never been about shooting, that's why it worked. It compromised nothing in the game's mechanical toolset or design philosophy, and instead served to further the game's fiction surrounding 47.

Look at the way lethal thrown objects are treated. It doesn't take away from the game, guns in this game aren't the point they're just another tool in a wide arsenal of tools. Even something as simple as having the option for unscoped guns to use the same lock-mechanic as thrown objects would serve the same end.

No trailers, but in the E3 PC Conference Post-Show, they do show a bit of the level.
It's only coming out in a bit over a month, so I guess it makes sense to wait.
>>
>>341333620
reeeeeeeeeeeee

I'm surprised it takes them so long to throw together a level honestly.
>>
>>341333620

I dont recall seeing that concept art, could you point me in a general direction?
>>
>>341333318
Don't know what to tell you, I'm having fun replaying the levels and playing escalations, elusive targets and contacts while I wait for a new level each month.

But I could definitely see other people just getting annoyed. Plus this is basically Early Access, the game will be much more polished when it actually comes out.

I guess I'm just making you more torn. Sorry about that.

Judging by some indirect evidence like horrible sound design and the fact that game most likely didn't even exist outside of a trailer and an engine when it was first announced, I've got a feeling IO is working on a shoestring budget.

Really, the whole thing felt like a last chance pitch to Squeenix after Absolution.

I actually thought Marrakesh might have been a bit rushed based on a few weird bugs I experienced for it. I bet that as soon as E3 is over, they'll get back to working on finishing up and polishing Thailand. I get the impression that they're being rushed by Square Enix, which is why they have this whole episodic format to begin with.

Sure. An astute anon noticed it and posted it a few weeks ago. It's in the monitors on Marrakesh at the start of the level. Pic related. Left is Sapienza, right is almost certainly Japan.
>>
>>341334806

Thanks famiglia, much obliged. Looks very good, been itching for a mission set at night.
>>
>>341334489
I got the same impression based on the lack of interesting exit-points, and the comparatively fewer quirky NPC routines in unusual locations (the rooftops are completely barren save for the head of security woman, there's generally nothing happening in the lamp shops and marketplace, etc
>>
>>341334761
they just announced the next content is the two alt-missions in july
>>
SA is impossible on this guy unless you speed run to his Vodka.

Other than that I dont see how you can do much besides just shooting him
>>
>>341335065
you're getting two of them (well, 1 definitely explicitely shown to be at night) next month
>>
>>341334673
Oh damn, I didn't even see this one. Where did you find this?
>>
>>341335420
Did they specifically say there would be no new regular mission until August? That's bullshit. I thought the bonus missions were supposed to be BONUS mission, not replacing the normal monthly missions..
>>
>>341334761
There's no source but if you go to the Hitman website, they talk about the two bonus missions that release in July (19th, I believe).
I imagine that means Thailand will release somewhere in August or maybe even September and the levels are there to satiate us until then.
>>
>>341335837
They didn't, but that would be my guess. I doubt they would have announced them now otherwise.
And yeah, it sucks, but at least it might mean that Thailand is more polished than Marrakesh was.

I've been wondering about the laptop in the Garden.

What the fuck is the point of turning it off? I even used the pistol just to see the dialogue and to see if it changed anything, but aside from him asking for the music to be turned back on, nothing happened.
>>
>>341335837
they haven't gone out of their way to say there will be no other missions until august but that doesn't seem like a thing they would ever do once they've announced they're releasing these

I expect this is how they're buying themselves some time while they put the big crunch on to get the shit done for the 3 unreleased locations
>>
>>341323763
Finished it and thank you.

if you can do it without those shenanigans that's badass, but I couldn't and my post describes a method that is 100% foolproof. Following those steps there's really literally no point you can fuck up and miss an opportunity or even get discovered.
>>
Bonus missions seem awesome and seriously they should do Paris at night, rainy weather and there is a Napolean or a dinosaur exhibition taking place.
>>
>tfw went full retard and failed it
>>
>>341339436
My excitement for the bonus missions kinda died when I found out we won't get a new map until august
>>
>>341339918
source?
>>
>>341340268
no new ep from E3, the next episode is the Bonus episode, which takes us back in time story-wise and consists of two missions set in Sapienza & Marrakesh
>>
>>341341001
Plus the plan was always to have 3 episodes released monthly, then a short break, then 3 more episodes + bonus released before november.
>>
>>341341431
oh, didn't know this
>>
>>341309292
do we have to pay for it?

Am I the only one who has bugged blood effects since the last update. The first two or so shots wont leave any bloody bullet holes on bodies, nor will they produce a cloud of red blood mist.
>>
>>341341713
For what, the Elusive Target or the Bonus Missions?
The Elusive Target is free. I do wonder about the Bonus Missions, though. Part of me thinks they'll just have it so that if you have Sapienza and Marrakesh bought, you get those levels extra free (Thus why they're called "bonus"), but maybe they'll go full jew.
>>
>>341342875
bonus mission sorry. I'm afraid they'll full jew too.
>>
>>341343157
No way they'll charge for BONUS missions on maps we've already paid for.
>>
>>341343378
Hope you're right. This is Square Enix we're talking about.
