NRS is everything, but lazy. In the twitch stream today they showed that the characters beat eachother up at the select screen. It's not like MKX where they taunt each other and then walk away.
Ed Boon also already confirmed they would have unique interactions again like in MKX. Honestly when it comes to effort, I'd say NRS and Arcs put the most effort into their fighting games.
