Let's be honest. This was the game of the conference and literally everyone knows it.
>>
It looked good, but not amazing.
>>
>>341302654
Nope. Go away Todd.
>>
>>341302762
Fuck off, that was the first time I had no complaints about a game's gameplay whatsoever.
>>
>>341302654

Dishonored was one of the best games of the last generation if not THE best.
Dishonored 2 looks like more of the same. Looks a bit hitchy and clunky, but if it keeps the good level design, the fun stealth, the fun action (I see they added kicks and charge moves to make it more like Dark Messiah) and the cool visuals (confirmed) and interesting lore, then this will be an easy GOTY winner and a contender for game of this generation.

Pfhahahahahaha. Todd wishes he could be even a 1/10000th as good at level design and world-building as Arkane. Hell, he wishes he could design levels to begin with, unfortunately he's an Open World memer.
>>
>>341303530
Pleb. Stick to your shit adhd games.
>>
This shit just looks so cool. I mean, I have faith that the gameplay will be at least as good as the first one, but for fuck's sake those powers look awesome. The Mesmerize special effect just looks creepy, and that Domino shit looks tight.

Story doesn't seem that interesting
I'm sure the gameplay will be good

That presentation was just meh

They made Emily look overpowered and my god the enemies are dumb for a stealth game

I mean what's the point if you can just attack guards directly and kill them so easily
>>
>>341306649
Actually, aside from a single area near the start of the game, the levels are perfectly designed for no blinking. Trust me, I played the game without it.
>>
>>341306649
Not the person you replied to, but all levels were designed so that they could be completed without the use of magic

This is pretty much my only complaint about it. That was a serious flaw in the first game, seems like they should have tried to fix it.

You're a fucking retard.
>>
>>341307961
No, it is designed around going from place to place and using verticality to sneak around.

Blink breaks that because you can go point to point very easily.

There is only one area in the entire game where Blink is competely required.
>>
>>341308082
>Lack of different weapons and tools
Compared to what?
>>
>>341308731
Deus Ex.
>>
>>341308385
Yes, one ability out of many is the same as a difficulty setting, which the game has in a different selection screen anyway. You genius.

>>341308463
Anon, out of all the abilities blink is the only one that has such a huge impact in the difficulty while being very cost effective too. It's disingenuous to claim it's not designed for it.
>>
Was it just me or the movement seems really stiff? I was expecting the movement to be so much more fluid in this game after that first trailer.
I'm talking about simple movement in the game walking and running. Maybe the camera in first person needs more work idk
>>
>>341308960
The logic is literally the same. You said that because you can use it to make it easier, it means the level must be designed around it, except it isn't.
>>
Why do people like Dishonored again?
>generic modern stealth gameplay that is almost thi4f tier
>yet another 'play it your way' game that favors stealth and non-lethal but mostly just gives you lethal and non-stealth rewards
>didn't do anything interesting with the steampunk(whale oil punk?) setting, probably the most boring audiologs ever in a videogame
>by the numbers slum level, mansion level, whorehouse level, refinery level etc.
>terrible cartoony art direction to hide poor graphics
The sequel looks no better. Seriously why are people hyped?
>>
>>341309440
I said that because an ability makes things much more easier than other abilities, it's designed around it.

Because you know, blink is an ability.

Are difficulty settings abilities?

>>
>>341309682
And I'm telling you that it's no different from saying that because you can play the level on easy, the game is designed for easy mode.

No, you stupid motherfucker, the level is designed around climbing, the blink is an added bonus.
>>
>>341307442
yes that is actually what that means. If the levels were designed around blinking then blinking would be the only thing you could do.
>>
>>341309576
I didn't like the fact that it gives you cool weapons and spells for killing yet never gives you the any cool non lethal skills or weapons.

First game was fun, but for the tools it gave you to act stealthy, it gave you 10x the tools to murder.

Once combat starts, your fucked. The mechanic of the more death you cause the more witches and rats that appear is fine, but there was no way to counter act that.

The game asks you to be a badass, then punishes you for the badassness.

>>
>>341303760
In Dishonored 2s defense; the demo was pretty shit. It was seemingly played with a controller which makes the camera movement seem jerky in first person, the fps was also atrociously uneven and the sound seemed to be slightly out of sync.

get hype tho

>generic modern stealth gameplay

Gr8 b8 m8
>>
>>341314709
>if you kill even one person you get the bad ending

Why do you guys keep saying that? It's not even remotely true. You need to kill indiscriminately to get a high chaos ending, it's not enough to murder all the assassination targets and certain key NPCs that are in your way. You gotta drop bodies like a dead beat dad drops beer cans.
>>
>>341314709
>if you kill even one person you get the bad ending

You can kill 69% of a level's population and keep Low Chaos. 70% is the cutoff to High Chaos.

pleb
>>
>>341312173
>The game asks you to be a badass, then punishes you for the badassness.
Yeah, this is probably my biggest problem with Dishonored. I hope they at least tweak the 'morality' system for the new one.

It's even worse that everyone in the game wants you to go around killing all these people, they actively aid you in your pursuit to kill people, and then they turn around and try to tell you you're a terrible person for it. Most of the non-lethal options for the targets are pretty morally terrible anyway.
>>
>>341315963
I'm pretty sure the inclusion of the new robot enemies is so that nonlethal players can still make use of lethal tools, which I think is a good inclusion.
>>
>it's a people shit on Dishonored without having played it episode
Oh boy get the popcorn
>>
>>341315963
They tell you you're a terrible person if you kill otherwise irrelevant people, like several guards each level or even civilians that get in your way. Literally no one will bitch if you assassinate your targets.
>>
>>341311798
>have to play as a woman
>assmad as a child

You're just as bad as the sjw's
>>
I don't get it man. If you're going to E3 to show gameplay for the first time why not put some effort and make a good gameplay presentation.

Why didn't they show one of those creepy mechanical enemies?

That's because if you play as Corvo, she dies. And if you play as her, Corvo dies.

Pretty sure Dishonored was their new IP break and they made it. Prey seems to be more along the lines "we'll do this AAA title so publisher will allocate us more funds". Not that it looks bad or anything, mind you.

I'll go through the second time full stealth nonlethal as Corvo.

I actually never went lethal as Daud, now that I think about it. Strangely enough it didn't feel right going full murdermode as him.

Solid game all-around with some interesting ideas like the premise and BAGINA DOORS, but it'll probably go through classical revisionism as people start praising it just to put the new one down.

I realised that a voiced Corvo was the future when I played the DLC and heard Daud comment on things with that sweet, sweet Michael Madsen voice. But as much as I like Stephen Russell, I can't help but feel that Corvo sounds like a generic gruff dude. Sure, a gruff dude he might be, but I hope Russell puts much more into it in the rest of the game, the introductory sequence we saw was pretty flat.

The presentation hit essentially all of the meaningless buzzwords. Acting like its a fucking revolution to show buildings in disrepair in a way that one might recall how it looked when it wasn't.

The colors were blinding. Like the look of bright sidewalks and stones in daylight that you get practically "snowblinded" into needing some sunglasses.

The AI was dumb as rocks doing the basic sort of "huh, what was that" and slow exploration of the area that games in the PS2 era did better.

The powers just looked overpowered. Dozens of ways to address a problem and all of them garunteed to work just fine is not "dynamic", it's frivolous.

>enter the people who never played Dishonored 1 and are now going to blatantly shit all over the sequel and spout buzzwords
It's sad because the first one was fantastic and did a lot of things well. The only problem was the difficulty and lack of stealth options, which was mostly fixed in the god-tier Daud missions.

There's always the same people bitching about "waaah I get punished for killing" too, even though the chaos endings are pretty cool and you get the best version of the finale. It's those people and ignorant Thieffags that get upset that it's not a 1:1 copy of their favorite stealth game despite Dishonored being focused more on assassinating and allowing for creative combat scenarios as well. I love Thief, but it's a load of horse crap to compare the two games when they clearly try to do something different from each other overall.

Afaik, no. They're going for a general "medium chaos" kind of ending. Presumably Corvo assassinated most of the targets, but he didn't stir shit up in the entire city and kept to being a professional. Also Daud's supposedly alive and my guess is that his canon ending is the redemption one.
