Sometime later in the year they'll have their own presentation showing off NX and the upcoming games they have in development.
E3 is no longer the necessity it once was.

There is truth to it, though.
Nintendo shows the NX some other time, you'll hear about it. You'll know every single minor detail, all of the games they've shown, all of the features, etc.
If they do it at E3, a lot of it gets lost in the general buzz of other stuff.
But either way, you'll still hear about it, so why does the venue matter when the end result is the same?

Add to that how Nintendo is the only one trying to innovate; that's why they walk at their own pace unlike Microsoft and Sony, rushing to outgimmick each other (Windows 10 integration vs VR, Scorpio vs 4.5k)
