Despite what you think about the guy being added into Skylanders, at least it's one more piece of shit thing until the remakes next year and, even then, he looks alright in Skylanders. There's a lot of references to Crash's old games which is good and the design of him is way better then Pug Spyro.

As a BK fan, I'm not in love with the game because of the characters. They weren't great characters, honestly.
I'm in love with the game because the worlds are charming and fun, and the gameplay is designed specifically around exploring those worlds (find things hidden in them, unlock moves that let you see more of them).
I think it's great that "stoic bear dude and smart-ass bird loudmouth" have been replaced with "stoic chameleon dude and smart-ass bat loudmouth" because the potential for banter is better, but really the main character is the least relevant part of a game like this.

If they make a new crash, it's going to have the same problem as crash 3. They'll probably try to cram it with as many half baked gimmicks and vehicles as possible and there will be very little actual platforming. ie the thing that made the series what it is. Those Xbox ports are actually some of the best ports in history hilariously. Banjo Tooie ran at 20 FPS on the N64 but on the 360 it runs at 60 in full 1080p with high res textures. It and Kazooie are probably the only games that run that well on the entire console.
