These games have been rebuilt and backwards engineered by M2, recorded real arcade sounds, and have music/sound equalizers, unlocks, special modes, Japanese/International versions, and two 3D Master System games. Also high scores and replays, customizable controls, 3D arcade cabs, and fucking Puyo.

If I play Afterburner II 3D on my 3DS, I'm wishing I using my flight stick. If I play it on MAME with my flight stick, I'm missing the new soundtrack and the bonus mode. I can't win.
All of these ports are fantastic though. I've bouncing back and forth between Outrun and Fantasy Zone for the past week. I'm definitely getting the physical collection when it comes out in Europe.

I'm terrible at Afterburner II. I just suck so bad at it. I think there's C-Nub controls. It's been a while. Also I prefer Fantasy Zone 2 for how much easier it is. FZ1 is really a git gud game, but FZ2 is a much nicer shooter with the dark world/normal world portals and easier flying/coin magnet.

Honestly, the circle pad makes it a lot harder because you can't do fine movements as easily which makes it a lot harder to lock on to enemy planes.
Go try it on MAME with a normal joystick with better sensitivity and you'll play so much better.
Also, actually using the After Burner boost will help a lot more. I used to be a lot worse before I discovered that just holding the throttle doesn't activate the after burner boost; you have to get the meter into the red, let go of the throttle and then slam it back on.
Once I figured that out, I was able to last much longer.

The Sega you know and loved died in 2001 when Sammy bought them. Xbox was just living off the scraps that were coming off the Dreamcast due to its cancellation. Do NOT even dare to imply that Microsoft is anywhere near the same level of quality that Sega was. Xbox was a fucking joke compared to any Sega console, even the 32X.
