I love how people are trying to convey that the classic RE games were somehow not in the action genre. Killing zombies was always a vital part of the game....the horror of the game was managing your ammo, knowing what items to take. You had to do that because without ammo you were fucked. Just because there were encounters that were better dodged, or because the game was slower paced doesnt mean it wasn't fucking action.

A first person walking simulator isn't the roots of the franchise. RE becoming a ridiculous action game sure wasn't the right direction for the franchise but going in the polar fucking opposite direction and turning it into this is equally bad. RE always had action aspects alongside the puzzle solving and survival horror, they needed to dial it back to how things were before instead of just removing it entirely. This game looks like it takes itself way too seriously as well, humor and cheesy/hammy moments were an important part of the series as well.
