Left 4 dead's only real issue was that it got pretty repetitive.

Not even the zombies per-say, but weapon selections (best choice is always magnum/AK) and maps.

Maybe the survivors just a bit.

Would have been nice to instead have the option of mix and matching survivor parties and watching them interact.

Dead Rising if you want cartoon violence mayhem that accentuates the corny mythos side of zombie lore.

Left 4 Dead if you want fast-paced action packed slaughterfest featuring killing machine WWZ zombies.

DayZ if you want glorified survival simulator of what it would actually be like during a zombie apocalypse.

Telltale's The Walking Dead if you want an idea of what empathy's like in a post-apocalyptic zombified world.

The vast majority of players are children. Most children don't so much as live in the moment so much as try and project themselves into being adults.

Everything is about accomplishments to a child. It doesn't matter if defeating an enemy is fun or challenging or exhilarating or anything really so long as the enemy is defeated, especially if flashy numbers appear on screen and pat them on the back.

In zombie games you mow them down by the score, tricking children into thinking they accomplished much more than they actually did "DUDE I KILLED LIKE 400 ZOMBIES" while at the same time never challenging them, because if there's one thing kids cannot stand it's losing.

The AI is going to consist of pathing toward the player and nothing else, it's like a world war z sim, only in the post-apocalypse you wouldn't want to waste a hundred bullets on a random encounter like that, or even carry that weight all the time
The person playing couldn't have gotten closer to some of those zombies if they had decided to slowgrind with them
