Gaming is dead and you're an idiot if you put a cent towards gaming this year, the next, and forever after.

nah. companies are just spooked by how bad consoles are doing so they are not developing much. Indie is creeping in, but console is no longer the driving force for indie devs.

>tfw all those "big" games coming out
and i couldn't care less about any of those... the new battlefield seemed kinda ok but the rest ranges from shit to absolute shit that no one ever asked for

all i want to play this year is the new mount & blade and the final version of killing floor 2
i'm probably growing out of videogames since it's getting harder and harder to have interest in this pathetic industry
>>
>>341166361
You could always try new genres. I hardly ever play action/fps anymore and play a lot more strategy and simulation now.

Everyone wants the call of duty money, casuals and that mentality held by companies has killed gaming. What is funny is after the casuals and dudebros fuck off, we will be here to pick up the pieces and the cycle will repeat.

I've taken up medical fantasy and sci/fi novels now. Those dense fuckers can't mess this up.

the closes i am to strategy is total war series because i simply can't into excel spreadsheet games from paradox
and i have little patient for simulation games and the last time i played one was flight simulator, 10 years ago or something

it's just harder and harder to be engaged by videogames for more than an hour or two... it might be that i'm burned out but at this point i don't know about anything anymore
>>
>>341167676
Not sure a cyclic crash every 20 years is a good way to fix an industry
Last time that happened nintendo managed to pick up the pieces and look at them now: creatively bankrupt for 20 years, milking, reashing and rebranding the same shit over and over again.

I hope at least the next time europe manages to pick up the pieces and create something with more substance when i say europe i'm talking about slaves not those worthless french frogs with their hoboshaft wewuzl337hakerz & assassinsvstemplars ep.20 s.11 garbage

Well I would get sick of games to if they were the only thing I did. If I'm not into it I don't force it. I'll go weeks without any serious gametime then something will hook me and I'll binge for a couple weeks before I take another break.

It's not good but it's the future, the ones who used to call video games a nerds hobby and bash on others for actually enjoying it. Now use it as a tool for their Facebook status and social conversations, even wearing clothes to portray this cool gamer look. They are nothing but a bunch of fucking posers who destroy any hobby they touch.

I used to play football for my school team and one of the best things in the world was playing a good medival/sci fi rpg. It helped me recharge when shit used to get on top of me, then everyone on my team got a Xbox or PlayStation. They played call of duty and Fifa and would call themselves gamers, going around claiming they had a nerdy side to the girls and anyone around them.

They would literally still put down others who would talk amongst themselves in other groups when they spoke about other games.

"Oh, I play games to. Have you played the new call of duty"

"No"

"What do you play?"

"Recently I played the witcher 2"

"Ugh that's for nerds, play a real game like cod. They have a new map pack based off city warfare, I guarantee its better than the game you're speaking of."

Girls and lads have a little laugh at the nerds and he walks back saying

"thank God I'm not that kind of nerd"

This actually happened.
>>
>>341176051
That happened to all of us.
That's how regular people work - giving up their individuality to be accepted by their peers it's the easier way to be part of something if they're as shallow as you are.
And to be honest that's probably the best path for most people, live your life like a simpleton and you'll probably be happy and you could always stuff your emptiness with women, tv and prescription pills
Whatever you pick i can assure you most of those lowstyles sure beat being on imageboards complaining about videogames... Because this feels like shit.

Rollcage not-reboot soon
Descent not-reboot soon
Original devs working on them
>Reboot
Fuck it, beats a AAA contextual button press modern cinematic experience or class based multiplayer unlocks with cash shop.
Big money gaming is dead, looking to AAA for innovation is like looking at a Michael Bay movie for an engaging story and nuanced characters.

I'm in no way a shallow person, that I can assure you. I've always refused to dance when whenever I have been told to.

The industry was built for the people wanting an escape from reality, a place to wield a sword or fight aliens on a distant planet. People put their blood, sweat and tears into the hobby. All to ensure people like us had a place to belong and relax.

I surf this board because I can speak to like minded people and occasionally rant about how the industry is going, just because one decides to post here does not mean their life is worse off than the person who does not.

I personally think I have a duty to those who dedicate/dedicated themselves to this craft, I may be one in seven billion but I'll be damned if I don't try to allow a genuine voice to be heard.
