How did conviction happen? Just how? If you hid the title no one in their right mind would think it's a splinter cell game.
DA went into a bad direction but it at least had the classical slow paced stealth that made the series what it is.
Conviction did not have the gameplay, tone and the atmosphere necessary to barely qualify it as a splinter cell game.

I agree that the series lost focus I don't agree that ironside was really that big of a deal yeah his voice was the shit but that's not why I bought splinter cell. The difference is, in CT, if you started a frontal melee attack the enemy could still shoot you before being taken out, providing he was aware of your location beforehand. In BL, as soon as the player's melee animation starts, the enemy goes into a scripted victim animation and cannot counter past that point.
