Hey guys, lets make one of the best FPS games to date, end it on a cliffhanger and never release the next part game in the series.

Big publishers are leaving Steam again. TF2 gets raped by Overwatch. Only thing they have now is CS and Dota. They soon need to make something again to stay relevant
do you even want hl3 in this day and age?
it will be utter trash and leave a sour taste in your mouth for years and you won't even feel like going back and replaying hl1/2

I would. All they need to do is make a campaign using the same gameplay, weapons, and UI just for closure. No one is expecting anything super drastic to change, I can't see them even wanting to break up the Half-Life gameplay style.

I feel like they will have to do something big. HL2 felt so fucking new and different when it came out. at first, I couldn't understand the physics puzzles. I just didn't get that you could do that in a game. And it was so amazing and so beautiful at first.
They have to really nail that fucking leap into the future that HL2 had. They have to have that leap or it wont be the same.

It's not as if they were shitting out sequel after sequel. Something stopped them pursuing Episode 3 and it was long before all the hat stuff started.
It's never coming out. It's been put off too long and expectations are so high of the game now that anything they made would fall short.

Half Life and Half Life 2 came with their own innovations, not entirely sure what the deal was with the brief episodic mindset but clearly they wanted to do something big for Half Life 3 but are having trouble coming up with something actually innovative.

i actually never beat all of the half life games...i have the orange box for xbox 360 and friend played it a bit. we got to the second level. i would play it more if i never got motion sickness.
