I really don't think DS2 is that bad. I've put hundreds of hours into DS1 and probably about 60 hours into DS3 (I only just got it) with hundreds of hours in DS2 as well, and I really do think it's a fine game. I'm not sure why it's suddenly a meme to hate on it so much

I enjoyed Dark Souls 2 for the most part but many of the environments didn't feel like they fit the setting. After playing Dark Souls 3 the Dark Souls 2 areas feel even more out of place. Can't really explain what I mean but Brightstone Cove Tseldora is the biggest standout in my mind. As for how the areas connect to each other I don't really care about that.

I do feel out of the souls games, DS2 also had the weakest "castle" area. Anor Londo and Lothric Castle are beautiful and interesting areas
Drangleic sucked in almost every way. Enemies sucked. It wasn't beautiful or interesting to look at. The traps were lame.
