There is no way it has those specs at 400, they were losing money at Xbox One launch at 500, they won't lose money per unit again being like 10+ million consoles behind Sony. As good as the Scorpio is, it might not matter if companies have to make games run on the PS4/Xbox. No one will use that much power unless its exclusive

Minimum $550 in my opinion - $700 does seem too much though, they surely aren't stupid enough to repeat the same mistake the One had.

That's kind of the point. Microsoft is obviously slowly moving away from the hardware market, and this is an important first step in doing this. We're going to see the Xbox and PC platforms get closer and closer to each other until Microsoft eventually phases Xbox as we know it out completely, and just makes a singular platform with hardware support from third parties. Essentially, they're doing what Steam Machines tried to do, but actually doing a good job of it, easing consumers into the water rather than pushing them in headfirst with their eyes closed.
