I needed a door out of the console scene and MS is giving me a pretty convenient one. At this time in my life, console play just doesn't net the same experience as it used to.
the best part is it doesn't hurt the Xbox brand for those that are younger, because the console and PC markets really don't overlap much at all.
It also might damper console wars a bit.

Although the same pricepoint as Scorpio you can, they are selling the S at a loss, but this console becomes irrelevant for so many reasons.
The brand will live, but it will fight digitally against Steam, not Nintendo or Sony.

I get why people don't like platform exclusives but a set of boxes that all do the same exact thing is an even worse fate. I, for one, like diversity and think it fosters competition among console devs to do the best job they can. No, because I built a PC years ago and with minor upgrades it's running almost everything flawlessly.
The only thing that bothers me is that if you are someone who wants to use the Xbox Live functionality don't you still have to pay for it regardless if it's on PC or not? That always steered me away from Xbox, Xbox Live costing money. On that note, Xbox-Live still is not free and never will be free.

I dont' care if the shit I play is on other systems or not. Among other things, I have Disgaea (PS2) Senran Kagura (PS Vita) Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360) and Street Fighter V (PS4) on PC. That's 4 consoles I didn't have to buy, and I don't care that other people are enjoying them in their own way on those consoles.
