Short term gains are going to be both of their downfall. Looking to the future of the actual next gen PS5 / XBone2 people will be hesitant to buy at launch, why buy now when a couple years from now there will be an upgraded version which is cheaper and more powerful.
They cannot use cell phones as an analogy here as games on phones do not cost up of $60 plus additional for DLC.
