Installed Win10 over a fucked up broken install of 8.1 which basically fixed everything.
Disabled all telemetry, tracking, cortana and updates. Opted out of all "customized content", blocked everything with DisableWinTracking and Destroy Windows 10 Spying. Have monitored everything leaving my PC for a month, nothing has connected to microsoft I didn't allow.
All in all I am really pleased, but only because it made my absolutely fucked (and pirated) installation into a fully working copy for free. And now I can enjoy directx12.
I have not had a single problem with ANY GAME whatsoever, even older ones like Tiberium Wars that people say generally won't work on newer OS installations. I'm enjoying it quite a lot, my only grievance is the shitty access system. Using the "search windows" thing for everything from command prompt to regedit is shit-tier.

It has been already a few years, presumably shortly after w8 came to be, that there are no official drivers that make w7 work with new laptop models/pieces
Best part is that when you buy a laptop it comes with w10 by default and they charge it along
So your best bet is to make a circus when buying a new laptop and make them remove w10 from it, so they wont charge you the price, nuke any data the hdd might have on it just in case, install any linux distro and launch w7 through a VM
