One Piece Pirate Warriors added the system where you summon companions during attacks, so your attacks can be book ended by a bunch of different combos based on whos in your squad. Plus in Tension mode you summon all the squad mates youve maxed out in tension so you could end an attack with summoning up to 3 extra customizable attacks.
Dragon Quest Heroes has boss battles and also has way tougher enemies forcing you to rely more on dodging and timing than most DW type games. You end up have to really be cautious cause enemies can just stun lock you to death. The bosses also have weak points you can use to knock them down or stun them for crits.
Its the little things that show despite the simple mashing gameplay they put a lot of thought into how your mashing, Dragon Quest Heroes especially
