I'm thinking that like Conway's Game of Life, it's possible to make a game with simple rules that naturally branchout into every other genre of game.
Those rules being:
>Players spawn by inhabiting robot bodies that are linked to spawn beacons, both of which are constructed by and also programmable by players
>The environment would be Venus so making something inhabitable that doesn't fly is hard, though possible
>Until broken into constituent parts, and if they are not just an object of a single material, all objects operate as a "black box" with autogenerated rules (based on their construction) as to what interaction leads to what effect
>Certain objects will have these rules deliberately modified irrespective of the components, and thus until broken can have unique behaviour. For example, the brain of the robot the player controls, or unique goods brought in by interplanetary trade (purchased with real money to give those goods high value)
>Playing as a human is possible, though it has implications such as biological requirements and being able as well as having to come from offworld

What I can see occurring as a result of that is:
>Piracy and the fun kind because just blowing a ship to pieces then picking up the wreckage doesn't work on Venus
>Stealth games, because how do you deal with a colossal enemy airship except from the inside?
>Dogfights, because the only way you can have something fast is for it to be heavier-than-air, and the only way to keep something heavier-than-air is to use an airship as a carrier rather than have the heavier-than-air thing as the main weapon
>Shooters, as an airship can easily become disputed territory
>Grand Strategy, because with the rule of players only spawning on other people's ships, although they can decide to go totally separate as soon as they own or have joined another ship they can also just become part of the fleet
>Economics and trading because all the stuff you build the ship out of has to come from somewhere

Perhaps Im being dumb, but I dont get what youre saying in the first place. What's the premise? Is it an mmorpg? What's an exemple of an autogenerated rules for the objects? If the setting is venus where does the game actually take place? Only on spaceships? etc etc
>>
>>341031820
Players are robots on airships unless they can somehow survive the heat and pressure below.
It'd be MMO, no RPG elements though except maybe a little for humans.
No idea for premise.
Autogenerated rules would be stuff like "when pull trigger gun go bang" though the exact method of how it works depends on the physics engine.

At least it's not Ring Runner again.

Thanks for all the good help "idea guy"!

Minecraft?

It controls like one.

I do have the technical skill actually.
I don't know if I have the idea firm enough.

That's a box of cute anon.

>>341033348
The idea is entirely unimportant. Making yur game work and making it fun, is. Come back when you have a fun system where the spawn points are movable by players and we'll take it from there; I will admit that I'm not holding my breath though.

Butthurt.

Special for you.

for you

is your audience going to see the idea as fun? we can't tell until you have a mock-up

this is the problem with ideas - they're in your head and you will never know if they work until you take them out of it
>>
>>341034203

Until the mean people on the internet use your system to grief constantly and your forums is filled with demands to do something about it because people cannot enjoy your content when the spawn point is moved into a location such that they cannot spawn at all, or spawn into a kill zone or something similar.

Close enough. It's not really my kinda thing but the idea isn't awful. Good luck properly executing it though, especially if its something you planned to do on your own.

Spawns being autokill doesn't affect the person who spawned one jot, not even logged in stats.

Griefing is entirely preventable without moderator intervention in the design.
