Look around the area before the boss.
Also, your position affects boss movesets, if you're going to back away to heal, don't go too far or you'll trigger his lunge.
You can heal right in front of his face if you time things right. Just use one of the openings where you would attack and heal instead.
Just go into it with an open mindset, it might take a bit too get used to the game not holding your hand but you'll appreciate it before long.

It's not as hard without shields as hyped but it's definitely faster and I'd say a lot more fun. I like it more than DaS3. Takes a bit of getting used to though, at first I thought that the parry windows and some attacks were impossible to get since they were so quick but once you get into it those windows that last fractions of a second feel like ages on their own.

Like 50% faster. Even the heavy weapons are about as fast as normal weapons in DaS3 but after a while they start to feel slow as well. DaS3 was actually really easy after BB since you NEED to dodge and all the attack windups in 3 were really long compared to what I was used to by that point and combos are like less than half the length so I was able to dodge almost everything on my first try.
