Serious question, instead of roll dodging does anyone ever use the normal tap backstep?
No, rolling is good because of the i-frames not actually getting out of the way.

it's mostly useless in PvE. It's utility is found in PvP scenarios. Backstep into immediate running sword swing animation is pretty good.

It was really good in DaS2, since it had I-frames. In DaS3? Garbage. Don't remember people using it in DaS1 much.

I use it against some humanoid enemies, especially with a spear weapon like the silver knight's, it has a nice reach and quick attack move after backstep
